Top 200 Most Anticipated Foreign Films of 2023:#25. Justine Triet’s Anatomie d’une chute

Date:

Anatomie d’une chute

Last year we thought this might premiere and that Cannes was not in the cards. We can now take that back. Triet’s Age of Panic (ACID), Victoria (Critics’ Week), and 2019’s Sibyl (Competition) is followed by Anatomie d’une chute. Justine Triet’s fourth feature that moved into production in March of last year with Swann Arlaud and Sandra Hüller toplining, this looks to be a catch-22 type of film which was co-written by her hubby Arthur Harari. This was produced by Les Films Pelleas’ David Thion and Les Films de Pierre’s Marie-Ange Luciani.

Gist: This is a procedural drama revolving around a woman who being investigated for the murder of her husband who was found dead. During the investigation, the detective first suspect an accident or a suicide and eventually believe it’s a murder. The key witness in the case turns out to be the couple’s blind son, who faces a moral dilemma.

Release Date/Prediction: Cannes competition with the Quinzaine as a backup possibility.
