A ‘Wild’ Comedy for 2007

Another big buy for the Weinstein’s – the company bought all the rights to the highly contested Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show. The deal was signed for just below $3 million, a surprisingly low figure, but could do wonders for Vaughn’s career (the Weinstein’s made him famous ten years ago with Swingers).

In the fall of 2005, “Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights, Hollywood to the Heartland Tour” traveled across the country, performing 30 shows in 30 days. The film captures the entire tour, including all performances, behind-the-scenes action, and interviews with Vince, the comedians and special guests.

Coming at a perfect time in Vince Vaughn’s tabloid-filled career, the film is following the currently popular genre of comedy documentaries. Perhaps the college boys will take a break from beer chugging to realize what it is that makes Vaughn so very funny.
